How to Fix Windows 10 Action Center Not Opening Issue?

Windows 10 Action Center, which is also known as notification center, is one of the best features that display all the system and app notifications in one place. It means that you don’t need to worry for any missing notifications. But sometimes, the Action Center can become unresponsive and create problems for you. Quick steps to fix Action Center won’t open issues

Action Center is quite a useful feature, but when it is creating problems in your PC, apply any of the following methods to troubleshoot it.

Method 1: Restart Windows Explorer

One of the simplest methods that you can try to fix this issue on your system is to restart it. If you are facing any problems in restarting your system, you can restart the Windows Explorer process.

  • For this, right-click on the taskbar, then click on the “Task Manager” option. You can also use Ctrl + Shift + Escape shortcut for this purpose.
  • Now navigate to the Processes tab and find and select the “Windows Explorer” process.  Select it and then click on the “Restart” button.

Above steps will restart the Windows Explorer and this might make Action Center to be in working state again.

Method 2: Use PowerShell

If restarting Windows explorer didn’t work, you can also use PowerShell for this purpose. Press “Win + X” key and select “Windows PowerShell (Admin)” option from the context menu that appeared on screen. Right-click on it and choose Run as administrator to run it with administrative privileges.

Paste the following line command and press Enter button: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like “*SystemApps*”} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml”} Once the command is properly executed, close PowerShell and check if the issue is fixed. If the issue still persists, install the latest Windows updates.
