Eyes are the windows to the soul right???? Yes, they are and they are the reason why you are able to see all the colors and lights around you. But are you aware of the eye care steps that you can take to keep your eyes healthy and well?

Myth 1; Sitting in Front of tv is Bad for Your Eyes

Contrary to popular belief, this is just a myth. We have been brought up with this constant scolding that doesn’t sit in front of the TV or that does not sit too close to the TV screens. But there is no concrete evidence to support this claim.

It does not mean that it does not have any bad effect on your eyes whatsoever. If you constantly see your child sitting too close in front of the TV it can be a sign of nearsightedness.

Myth 2; Carrots are the Only Solution!!!!

You are living under a rock if you haven’t heard of this. Carrots are rich in vitamin A. if there is one vitamin that promotes better vision it is this one. So people often assume that if they are eating carrots then they are doing the best for their eye myths care.

But carrots are not the sole supply of vitamin A in your body. You easily get vitamin A from other parts of your diet such as 

  • Milk
  • Cheese 
  • Egg yolk
  • Liver

So if solely relying on rabbit food is not going to help if your dietary intake of vitamin A is sufficient. 

Myth 3; Wearing Glasses can be Damaging for Your Eyes

This myth is the classic example of prevention gone wrong! People often believe that if they are wearing glasses for a long time they can damage their eyes, this is not the usual case. If you fail to use glasses for any prevailing eye issue such as nearsightedness, then the situation can be quite damaging for your eyes.

Make sure to wear glasses in such scenarios because they are the ultimate protective wear in such scenarios. Because if you fail to use them then their absence can be quite catastrophic for you. 

Myth 4; You are Using the Computer Way too much!!!

This myth is also around the corner for quite some time. But just like the one that we have previously discussed which was related to sitting in close proximity to the TV. Yes, it can be a cause of several other eye issues such as eye fatigue. 

But if you think that using the computer for a long time can cause you nearsightedness or farsightedness.

Myth 5; Cataracts are a Rare Case

A cataract is the cloudiness of the human lens. People tend to assume that cataracts are an eye condition that only occurs in the late forties or diabetic patients are prone to the development of cataracts. 

Cataracts are an eye condition that can happen to anyone at any stage of their life. So make sure to take extra care of your eyes for the long run. 

Myth 6; Visit the Doctor Only When You Have an Issue

This could not get any wrong. We cannot stress enough the importance of regular and routine checkups. There are numerous things that can be wrong with your body and in this case with your eyes. So you should be sure to get your eyes checked every once in a while.
